Program Description
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or BJJ is a martial art and self-defense system focusing on grappling, especially on the ground. The main principle of the art is that a smaller and/or weaker person can successfully defend against the attacks of a bigger or stronger assailant by using proper technique through which the assailant is submitted by joint-locks and chokeholds. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is practiced in sport grappling tournaments and MMA competitions, as well as for self-defense. Typically, a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner wears a GI. Students can choose to grapple with or without a GI.
